Apply for the Exceptional Social Scholarship!
Who can apply?
Students with active student status enrolled in full-time bachelor’s and two-or single cycle master’s programme are eligible to apply for the Exceptional Social Scholarship.
When and how can you apply?
You can submit your application at any time during the year if your own or your family’s social circumstances have changed significantly due to an exceptional event within the four months preceding the application. Examples include a serious, long-term illness, the death of a family member, or another significant change in your social circumstances. You can submit an application only once for the same exceptional event.
You can apply through the “P206 Exceptional grant based on social needs” application form in Neptun Administration → Requests → Application. You must also upload the required supporting documents there. For the 2026/2027 academic year, applications can be submitted between 1 September 2026 and 31 August 2027.
What should you pay attention to before applying?
When submitting your application, you must provide supporting documents for all circumstances taken into consideration during the assessment.
The supporting documents must be uploaded as scanned PDF files, and each document may not exceed 2048 KB. If your application is incomplete, you will receive a notification in Neptun indicating which documents need to be corrected or submitted. You will then have 5 working days to provide the missing documents.
How much financial support can you receive?
Depending on the severity of the exceptional circumstance, the maximum amount of the one-time support is:
- mild change in circumstances: up to HUF 150,000
- moderate change in circumstances: up to HUF 175,000
- severe change in circumstances: up to HUF 200,000
The amount awarded also depends on your social score: students with 25 points or more may receive 100% of the maximum amount available for the given circumstance, while students with 11–24 points may receive 80%, those with 6–10 points 60%, and those with 0–5 points 50%.
A decision on your application will be made within 7 working days of its receipt, and payment will be arranged within 8 working days following the decision.
