Department of Agricultural Economics at the EAAE Congress in Bonn

The European Association of Agricultural Economists (EAAE) celebrated its 50th anniversary last week at the congress held in Bonn.

The prestigious international event brought together around one thousand researchers, experts and policymakers from all over the world to discuss the most pressing challenges facing the agri-food sector.

From the Department of Agricultural Economics of Corvinus University, seven colleagues participated in the congress, presenting their latest research findings in the form of papers and posters. Attila Jámbor, Head of the Institute of Sustainable Development and member of the EAAE Board, also took an active role in several panel discussions.

During the jubilee celebrations, our department received special recognition: Professor Emeritus Csaba Forgács, former President of the EAAE, was awarded the Fellow for EAAE distinction for his outstanding contributions. With this, our department now has two members who have received this highly prestigious honour – a distinction that is very rare even at the international level.

The participation and recognition clearly demonstrate the strong international embeddedness of the Department of Agricultural Economics, as well as its active contribution to professional discourse.
