Corvinus researcher Johannes Wachs wins the 2026 MTA Lendület grant

For the researcher of the Collective Learning Centre, operating within the Corvinus Institute for Advanced Studies (CIAS), the funding will enable the establishment of a new research group dedicated to investigating the dynamics of innovation.

Johannes Wachs, a researcher at the Collective Learning Center within the Corvinus Institute for Advanced Studies (CIAS), has been awarded funding under the Hungarian Academy of Sciences’ prestigious Momentum (Lendület) Programme in the 2026 call, in the amount of HUF 290,000,000. 

The winning project, titled “Local Codes and Global Flows: A New Lens on Innovation”, aims to develop a novel perspective on how innovation emerges and evolves, with a particular focus on the interaction between local knowledge systems and global economic, technological, and scientific processes. 

The Momentum (Lendület) Programme of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences supports outstanding researchers in establishing new research groups and conducting internationally competitive research. In the 2026 round, a total of 14 new research groups will be launched, further strengthening Hungary’s research ecosystem. 

Johannes Wachs’s research project will further enhance Corvinus’s academic reputation and boost the international visibility of the economic and social science innovation research conducted at the institution.
