We are excited to share the new article “Pandemic policymaking in European populist and liberal democracies: a comparison between Hungary and Portugal”, co-authored by Attila Bartha, Mónika Kopasz, and Judit Takács, published in Political Research Exchange. In this study, the authors examine the contrasting approaches to pandemic policymaking in Hungary and Portugal, exploring how political factors—particularly the distinctive features of populist and liberal democracies—can help explain the differences in pandemic responses.
