In the past year, the Middle East has been rocked by a series of interconnected crises and humanitarian tragedies in Palestine, Lebanon, Israel, and beyond. The recent re-election of former President Donald Trump as the next leader of the United States adds another layer of unpredictability to an already volatile situation. What can we expect from a second Trump presidency in the Middle East? How has the outcome of the election itself affected the ongoing crises on the ground? Which actors stand to benefit from the transition, and what are the prospects for ending the ongoing crises?

In our next IR Talk, we try to find answers to these questions with four participants:

  • László Csicsmann, Corvinus University of Budapest
  • Elias Dahrouge, Independent Researcher and Consultant
  • András Léderer, Hungarian Helsinki Committee
  • Máté Szalai, Corvinus University of Budapest

Moderator: Csenge Ágoston, College for Advanced Studies of Diplomacy in Practice

The event is organized by the Department of International Relations and the College for Advanced Studies of Diplomacy in Practice.
