The presentation of the Educatio journal’s 2026/2 issue

In the third decade of the 2000s, we are witnessing the emergence of new phenomena in higher education worldwide. This is driven by the further—and now global-level—expansion of higher education, as well as the fact that rapid technological progress has fundamentally transformed the economic and social environment surrounding higher education, alongside its relationship with this new environment. This relationship is incomparably more complex than before, making it less transparent for both actors and researchers of the phenomenon.

The 2026/2 issue of the journal Educatio (edited by Ildikó Hrubos) addresses phenomena that have emerged essentially at the same time in the recent past (or were already known, but have only now gained strength), and it is precisely this temporal coincidence that links them together. Exploring them can help us understand the processes of change and contribute to debates on the mission of higher education institutions and the evolution of future higher education models.

The presentation will be followed by a discussion with the authors and higher education experts. The language of the event will be Hungarian.
