Amy Edmondson has been selected by the Rajk College of the Corvinus University of Budapest as the 2022 Simon Prize winner. Amy Edmondson will give an open lecture entitled “The Fearless Organization: Why Psychological Safety Matters at Work, More than Ever” following the award ceremony.

Amy Edmondson is a professor at Harvard Business School whose main research interests are psychological safety, teamwork and organizational learning. Her work has appeared in a number of academic and management publications, including Administrative Science Quarterly, Academy of Management Journal, Harvard Business Review, and California Management Review. His most recent book, The Fearless Organization: Creating Psychological Safety in the Workplace for Learning, Innovation and Growth, provides a practical guide for organizations that are succeeding in the modern economy. Amy Edmondson has been regularly recognised in the bi-annual Thinkers50 global ranking of management thinkers since 2011. Most recently, she was ranked number one in 2021. She also received the Thinkers50 Breakthrough Idea Award in 2019 and the Talent Award in 2017.

The Herbert Simon Prize, now in its fifteenth year, was founded in 2004 by the Rajk College. The College’s membership recognises theorists whose academic work has made an outstanding contribution to solving business problems and who have had a significant impact on the professional development and thinking of the College’s students. The Herbert Simon Award includes a public lecture and a small group course at the College. The reception of world-renowned experts is always a big event at the college: the students compile a publication of the laureate’s writings for the occasion, thus contributing to making the latest findings in business studies available in Hungarian.
