Start the New Academic Year with Us!
September is just around the corner, marking the beginning of the 2026/27 academic year. Corvinus University of Budapest warmly invites all students, faculty and staff to the University’s official Year Opening Ceremony.
One of the highlights of the event will be the Freshers’ Oath Ceremony, during which our first-year students will officially become members of the Corvinus community.
At the event, welcome speeches will be delivered by Bruno van Pottelsberghe, Rector of the University, Milán Gauder, President of the Board of Trustees, and Gergely Mészner, President of the Student’s Union. The ceremony will be made even more memorable by a performance of the Hungarian National Anthem by the Corvinus Crescendo Choir, a concert by Elemér Fehér and Sándor Suke (Talentum Hungaricum), and a performance by the Corvinus Közgáz Folk Dance Ensemble.
The programme will also include the presentation of the Pro Futura Award, which recognises outstanding commitment and contribution to the Corvinus community.
The language of the ceremony is English.

Welcome Party
The celebration doesn’t end with the ceremony! Once again this year, ÖCSI and the Students’ Union (HÖK) will host an after party, giving everyone the opportunity to kick off the new academic year together in a relaxed and festive atmosphere.
