The Digital Transformation of Tourism: Digital Nomads, Artificial Intelligence, and the New Travel Ecosystem examines the digital transformation of tourism through two closely connected developments. The book explores how digital nomadism is changing the relationship between work, mobility, and destinations, and how artificial intelligence is reshaping travel planning, tourism communication, service operations, and destination management. Alongside technological opportunities, the authors also address responsible use, sustainability, and the continuing role of human judgment.

The volume will be published by Akadémiai Kiadó on the MeRSZ platform as part of the Tourism and Mobility book series, edited by Prof. Dr. Melinda Jászberényi.

The program will begin with two short presentations by the authors introducing the book’s main themes. These will be followed by a professional roundtable discussion involving researchers and external experts working on the digital transformation of tourism, digital nomadism, and the role of artificial intelligence in the sector.

The book launch is jointly organized by the EMOK Tourism Marketing Section and the Corvinus Centre for Transport Studies – CCTS. The event will be held in Hungarian.

The event will be opened by Professor Ádám Balázs Csapó, Acting Dean for Artificial Intelligence at Corvinus University of Budapest. Professor Melinda Jászberényi, editor of the Tourism and Mobility book series, will then offer a brief appreciation of the volume.

The authors, Ágota Pfening and Dr. Márk Miskolczi, will give two short presentations introducing the book’s main themes: the significance of digital nomadism for tourism and the role of artificial intelligence in the transformation of the sector.

The presentations will be followed by a professional roundtable discussion featuring:

The discussion will be moderated by Dr. Tamás Iványi, Assistant Professor at the Budapest University of Technology and Economics. The panel will explore current questions surrounding the digital transformation of tourism, with particular attention to digital nomadism, the tourism applications of AI, and the intersection of academic, corporate, and public-policy perspectives.

Everyone interested in the topic is warmly welcome.
