The 2026 final of the Economics Olympiad was held on 26 March at Corvinus University of Budapest. The competition was won by Domán Nacsa, a student of Ferenc Erkel Secondary School in Gyula.

Corvinus alumna Petra Hajdu-Pásztor now leads her own startup in the international cruise industry. Her story demonstrates that with the right background and determination, a well-identified market problem can be turned into a successful business. The share of people in Central Europe who consider shorter, more equally shared parental leave between mothers and fathers to be ideal has increased, according to an international study conducted with the participation of Corvinus University.

Bruno van Pottelsberghe, Rector of Corvinus University of Budapest for just over a year and a half, invited his predecessors in the role to a lunch in order to connect four decades of leadership experience through a personal discussion of today’s challenges in higher education.

Four undergraduate students from Corvinus University of Budapest Andrei Krajuhin, Desislava Dostinova, Gergely Ganyecz, and Kseniia Pyzhova travelled to Lausanne, Switzerland, to compete at the first in-person edition of the International Olympic Case Study Competition (IOCSC), where they faced a completely new challenge: sport management; and came home as champions.

An international research project aimed at improving the trustworthiness of artificial intelligence applications has been launched following the signing of a contract in China in recent days between The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) and Corvinus University of Budapest.

On 19–20 March, we held our mid-year graduation ceremonies in the atrium of Building E, where more than 800 students received their diplomas. From now on, we are proud to welcome them into the university’s alumni community. At the ceremonies, five of our successful alumni also addressed the graduates with celebratory speeches.

The Code, renewed and expanded with the broad involvement of the university community, provides guidance for all members of the institution in response to current challenges and also defines the composition of the new Ethics Committee.

On 19–20 March, we held this year’s cross-semester graduation ceremony.

The joint mentoring programme organized by Corvinus University of Budapest and OTP Bank is launching for the fifth time, with 18 mentor-mentee pairs participating this year. Interest in the programme has been growing year after year: more than 50 students applied this semester, and from among them, 18 were selected to learn from OTP Bank’s leading professionals over the coming months.

Participants could choose from several distances in the race.

The professor emeritus of the Institute of Finance at Corvinus received the prestigious honor for his research and teaching work, among other things, in the fields of financial markets and corporate finance.
