Position and professional background
My goal at Corvinus is to contribute to the success of the University’s strategic goals. In order to achieve these ambitious goals, we must work tirelessly and design new tools and products to facilitate the transition. This is why I’m here and I am determined to participate in this process to the best of my abilities.
In the past ten years I worked abroad, representing Hungarian interest, however these activities started earlier in Budapest by founding a Public Diplomacy institution that still operates to this day. At the beginning I worked in Brussels. My main task in the EU headquarters was to fight for Budapest’s – and eventually Hungary’s – regional interests within the context of the European Union. Later on in Germany the focus of my mission became the stability of the Hungarian National Economy, strengthening Hungary’s external economic relations and attracting Foreign Direct Investment into the country.
Hobbies and interests
My early interests were a Russian Blue Cat and a piano. I come from a family of artists, of both visual arts and classical music, thus I also displayed artistic talent early on, however music became my way of self-expression. I composed and played music. Throughout my high school years, I particularly enjoyed hikes in the Alps and pilgrimages to Mariazell. Later, in university I was introduced to fencing and immediately fell in love with the sport, during my time in Germany I got to further improve my skills and even master a new discipline, a thrusting weapon, the Épée. While I lived in Belgium I seriously got into cooking and became a hobby chef. I raise three sons – although often times it feels like I have thirty-three – with my Flemish wife. As a private individual I work to expand the circle of the friends of Hungary.
