Agenda

The workshop, organised by the V4 Energy Think Tank Platform, will focus on two topics: how the V4 countries have dealt with the energy crisis and how they plan to decarbonise the heating sector. The English-language event will start with a panel discussion with the V4 Ambassadors for Energy, followed by presentations and discussions of draft studies prepared by members of the V4ETTP platform.

With the aim of strengthening cooperation among the think tanks of the Visegrad countries in the field of energy, as well as promoting dialogue between the academic sector and decision-makers in this area, REKK (HU) as coordinator, along with SFPA (SK), the Instytut Jagielloński (PL) and AMO (CZ) as partners, have initiated the launching of the V4 Energy Think Tank Platform (V4ETTP) as a permanent think tank cooperation platform focusing on energy, operating from 2018. In 2022 the Polish partnership was taken over by the Centre for Eastern Studies, OSW.

The 2023 work plan of the V4ETTP emphasises regional solutions to the unprecedented energy market situation caused by the pandemic and the Russian aggression on Ukraine, but also on the challenge of the decarbonization of the economy. The partners focus on issues which enable the handling of the urgent energy price challenges and on issues which assist the elaboration of long-term energy transition solutions for the upcoming years, after the war, hopefully.

The workshop focuses on two topics: the V4 countries’ reactions to the energy crisis and heating decarbonization. At the event we welcome the ambassadors responsible for energy issues in the V4 countries to a high level panel discussion to discuss the possible common V4 positions and discuss the above mentioned topics based on draft working papers prepared by the think tank partners of the platform.

The Agenda is available here. Participation at the event is free, but please register here.
