STAT WARS UNI Statistics Competition

The Hungarian Central Statistical Office (KSH) and the National Bank of Hungary (MNB) are launching a statistical competition for BA/BSc and MA/MSc students in autumn 2024.
Participating teams will have the opportunity to test their skills in data processing and visualisation in a multi-round competition, where they will be judged by a panel of university lecturers and staff from KSH and MNB.
The competition is open to teams of up to 3 BA/BSc or MA/MSc students, who will test their skills in tasks involving economic, social and territorial data series.
Teams will compete in 3+1 rounds.
Timetable of the competition
Registration deadline 16 Sep – 15 Oct 2024.
- Round 1 (online), pre-screening 16-22 Oct 2024
- Round 2 (online) 28 Oct – 11 Nov 2024.
- Round 3 (online) 14-25 Nov 2024.
- Final (BA/BSc) 4 Dec 2024 08:00 – 12:30
- Final (MA/MSc) 4 Dec 2024 13:00 – 17:30
Winning teams will receive a substantial cash prize.
