Paths to Sustainability: Debates on the Future

Our world is full of questions and problems that make us rethink much of what we once considered certain. At Corvinus, we want to create space for sharing and discussing these issues. That is why we launched the “Debates on the Future” series, where you can hear different experts’ perspectives and opinions as reflecting on the dilemmas yourself.
The first debate brings together two renowned experts:
-
Diána Ürge-Vorsatz – physicist, climate researcher
-
Zoltán Pogátsa – economist
The central question of the discussion:
Is population growth really a key factor in stopping the climate crisis, or is it just an excuse to avoid addressing overconsumption in the Global North?
The debate will be moderated by Alexandra Köves, ecological economist.
Date: 3 November 2025, 19:00
Venue: Corvinus, Building C, Lecture Hall IX
Join us to hear first-hand arguments from our guests, and take a moment to reflect: how do you imagine our future?
The event is free and open to all, no registration required.
