Join us on 26 February in the upcoming session of the IR TALKS series organized by the Department of International Relations.  Andrej Nosko PhD. (Visiting Researcher at Matej Bel University in Banska Bystrica, Slovakia) will deliver an insightful lecture that explores the shifting dynamics of Europe’s energy landscape, with a focus on nuclear energy’s role amidst evolving economic and geopolitical realities. The session will provide context for the role of nuclear within the energy mix alongside other energy sources, and its economic, technological and geopolitical implications. This is followed by a comparative overview of the current EU nuclear landscape, trends in nuclear power plant developments, and the intricacies and dependencies stemming from the economic and geopolitical implications of nuclear technology and the nuclear fuel cycle. The presentation will conclude by addressing critical dependencies and prospects for the future of European nuclear energy, setting the stage for an engaging Q&A session. The talk will be accessible to audiences without prior technical knowledge.
