From Data to Knowledge: The Impact of Generative Artificial Intelligence on Data Management in Higher Education

Date: 15 May 2026, 13:00-15:00
Location: Corvinus University of Budapest, Gellért Campus, Rooftop Hall
The event will be held in Hungarian.
Higher education institutions have access to an ever-increasing amount of data, yet it remains difficult to quickly and reliably extract actionable insights from it. The creation of a unified data repository, the associated management tasks, and the development of institutional data warehouses and analytical solutions remain a lengthy, complex, and challenging process for higher education institutions even today. Generative artificial intelligence, however, promises new possibilities: natural language queries, automated analyses, and faster data interpretation. This raises a number of questions and challenges.
- To what extent does—or could—generative artificial intelligence change these processes?
- Can advancements in generative artificial intelligence help overcome technological and organizational barriers and bring data closer to decision-makers in higher education?
Our event focuses on the above-mentioned intersections between artificial intelligence and data asset management in higher education, featuring three presentations followed by a roundtable discussion.
We cordially invite members of the subcommittees, our corporate partners, interested colleagues, and students to attend the event.
