Danube Cup international collaboration for university start-ups—kicking off 2023 with comedian Gergely Litkai on 3 MarchThe achievements of Seon and Munch are all over the financial news. With crowdfunding on the rise, now anyone can invest in start-ups, but international expansion still poses a challenge to most new businesses—Danube Cup wants to support university start-ups in this as well.
This year the international finals of the student pitch competition will be a multi-day event in Bavaria with trainings offered to the participants. Lecturers teaching business creation will get together in Belgrade in November at an international conference to make sure their courses provide up-to-date knowledge.
The partner universities of the Hungarian-founded Danube Cup international network will hold a startup pitch competition for students in 2023 again. The Budapest University of Technology (BME) and the Corvinus University of Budapest will send 2 teams each to Bavaria—Regensburg and Passau—in May 2023 to the international Danube Cup Competition, where a multi-day training will be followed by a pitch competition before an international panel and audience.
In November 2023, the University of Belgrade will host a conference for academics in the field of business creation. The aim is to reach out to other players in the ecosystem besides universities—to those providing startup trainings and to emerging start-ups as well.
This year the Hungarian events of Danube Cup will begin with the Danube Cup 2023 Kick-off on 3 March 2023. We are happy to have Gergely Litkai, stand-up comedian, founding member of Dumaszínház and winner of the Karinthy Ring as a guest at the event: Gergely will give an inspiring lecture about becoming and being an entrepreneur. Gergely is a serial entrepreneur, but he only invests in sustainable projects, because “sustainability is not a joke”. For more information visit the Facebook-event.
The Hungarian lecturer team of Danube Cup is offering a free booster training to prepare participants for the international competition. The preparatory training will be a series of free workshops in English in March–April 2023, with business creation experts from BME’s Faculty of Economic and Social Sciences (BME GTK) and Corvinus University as instructors and mentors. Registration for the training:
Every team should prepare a ONE PAGER and an English-speaking video, not longer than 2 minutes, and send a link to these to firstname.lastname@example.org
Registration deadline: 6 March 2023
