Assessing the Pros and Cons of Genetically Modified Organisms (GMOs)
15 Oct. 2026, 9:00 AM - 10:00 AM
We invite undergraduate/graduate students, staff, postdocs, and faculty to a scientific presentation on GMO's, which will be presented by Timothy Durham.

Date: 15 October 2026 09:00—10:00
Venue: C510
Language: English
The topic will be presented by Timothy Durham, professor of crop science at Ferrum College, Virginia, USA. He teaches general biology, plant science, plant protection, biotechnology/plant genetics and breeding, and agronomy. His family operates Deer Run Farm – a 30-acre “truck” farm on Long Island, New York. As one of a handful of farms in the area, it faces unique challenges, especially those associated with urban-edge agriculture. As a result, Tim has a keen interest in the interplay between science, sustainability, and policymaking.
