Special Session of CoCoCo 2026
This session presents A Basket Full of Eggs, a Romani film and music archives project led by Hazel Marsh, Esbjörn Wettermark, Tiffany Hore, and Lisa Smith. The project brings together Romani and Traveller communities, academics, and archivists to decolonise music archives and highlight the immense but often overlooked contributions of Romani and Traveller people to Britain’s folk music traditions.
The event will include a short introduction to the project, followed by a screening of the 2025 film A Basket Full of Eggs, and a brief discussion. Through the story of Romani advocate and journalist Liza Mortimer and her family’s connection to English folk music, the session invites audiences to reflect on representation, heritage, and the importance of making archives more accessible and inclusive.
This Special Session is part of the Corvinus Communication Conferences, CoCoCo 2026, which addresses resistance, rebellion, and reinvention in communication and media studies. Besides the special sessions, the conference also brings together nearly 70 researchers and professionals in multiple sessions on April 24 at the Corvinus Main Building. The event is organized by the Department of Communication and Media Sciences, Institute of Marketing and Communication Sciences.
