The Maecenas Universitatis Corvini Foundation has launched an international call for applications to select the Rector of Corvinus
Budapesti Corvinus Egyetem

The change of the university’s maintainer almost five years ago has enabled Corvinus to embark on a process of radical renewal that is expected to make the institution the best university in Central Europe in the field of economic and social sciences.

Corvinus University’ further priority is to achieve international research excellence, for which the integration of an international research culture, the continuous increase of the university’s innovation potential, and the further strengthening and expansion of international cooperation in education, research and innovation are essential.

To achieve all these goals, the Maecenas Universitatis Corvini Foundation, which maintains Corvinus University, has issued an international call for applications for the rector’s position. The new Rector’s primary task will be to implement the University’s strategy, to achieve excellence in research and teaching, and to make the University competitive at international level.

Last semester, the Maintainer asked the Senate to formulate its expectations and considerations with regard to the future Rector, just like it had been done in the previous procedure. An ad hoc university committee of 5 members, established by the Senate, involving senators, heads of institute and members of the Board of Professors, assessed and summarised the expectations of the academic community regarding the role of the future Rector.  The report having been endorsed by the Senate, its findings were incorporated into the content requirements.

The deadline for submitting applications is 5 pm on 19 April and the call for applications is available here.  We will keep you informed about the next stages in the process.
