The latest issue of Budapest Management Review, May 2025

The monthly published Budapest Management Review is one of the most significant journals in the field of business, management, and organizational studies in Hungary, with a history of more than 55 years, ranked in the best, “A” category by the Hungarian Academy of Science, one star on ABS List 2024.

It is a general management journal, which includes studies on different aspects of organizations: structure, processes, and performance, and equally on cultural, behavioural, and technological subjects. Multidisciplinary research is highly valued and papers that draw on the perspective and theoretical background of sociology, psychology, economics, political science, or communicational studies – apart from that of business, management and organization science are also appreciated. 

Adapting to the habits of our readers and aiming for a more sustainable publishing model, we primarily distribute our journal digitally. The mediating role of entrepreneurial social identity in the impact of dark triad traits on entrepreneurial performance 

Analyzing the Hungarian database of GUESSS (Global University Entrepreneurial Spirit Students’ Survey), the authors found that subclinical narcissism positively affects entrepreneurial success.

Within the framework of the European Union’s commitment to sustainable development, this research examines the current sustainability attitudes of Hungarian small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).

Professionalization maturity in Hungarian family firms 

This study presents the decomposition of family business professionalization into sub-dimensions using a principal component analysis. Based on the results of factor analysis, it creates a professionalization index that is suitable for measuring the maturity of family firms.

A comprehensive systematic literature review of online behavioural advertising 

This systematic literature review using the TCCM (Theory, Context, Characteristics, Methodology) framework based on the SPAR-4-SLR (Scientific Procedures and Rationales for Systematic Literature Reviews) protocol. This paper analyses 35 top-quality studies from the last 6 years, taking into account the theories, contexts, variables and methodologies used.

The impact of healthy lifestyle apps’ quality on satisfaction and perceived impact using PLS SEM 

This study aims to adapt the uMARS scale, developed for evaluating the quality of m-health applications, and to investigate the relationship between quality, satisfaction, and behaviour factors concerning lifestyle and wellbeing applications.
