The Corvinus University of Budapest, Hungary's leading university of business, economic and social sciences, and KPMG, one of Hungary's leading audit, tax and business advisory firms, have signed a strategic agreement. The cooperation between the university and the consultancy firm is based on three pillars: education, mutual knowledge transfer and talent management.
Budapesti Corvinus Egyetem

The three-year partnership document was signed on behalf of Corvinus University of Budapest by Bruno van Pottelsberghe, President and Rector of the University, and on behalf of KPMG by Rezső Rózsai, CEO of the firm, at the Corvinus Gellért campus on 11 November.

As the pace of technological development increases, continuous learning and adaptation is essential for the two institutions. The partnership between Corvinus and KPMG can also help to ensure that the latest technologies and methods are rapidly integrated into education and practice.

According to the cooperation agreement, experts from the consultancy will participate as guest lecturers in the sharing of knowledge and expertise on subjects related to management and data science. This will help the university to train future professionals in a targeted way, based on the needs of the students to be effective on the job market, which will not only improve the quality of education but also of the fit with the labour market.

As part of the mutual knowledge transfer, Corvinus researchers will give lectures, trainings, workshops for KPMG staff and develop joint research and innovation programmes. In addition to offering targeted job opportunities to Corvinus students, KPMG is also present at the university’s career expos, offers internships and early career positions, and provides mentoring (career advice, soft skills development) to Corvinus students. The partnership provides students with a great opportunity to build contacts in the industry, gain practical experience and prepare for their future careers.

Corvinus considers it a fundamental task to integrate the knowledge and expertise generated in the business sector into its education programmes, including the consulting industry, which plays a key role in economic development. We are proud to have established this strategic cooperation with the third major company from this important industry segment. This bilateral win-win partnership will secure flows of knowledge and expertise in the two ways, each institution benefiting from the other,” said Bruno van Pottelsberghe, President-Rector of Corvinus.

“The agreement just signed represents not just a partnership between two organizations, but also a joint journey that offers unparalleled opportunities for mutual knowledge transfer, talent management and career development. We are delighted that this strategic agreement seals years of successful cooperation with the University. This partnership symbolizes the meeting of two ecosystems, where knowledge and innovation meet practical experience and market needs. Our journey together is not only a strengthening of the relationship between university and company, but also the beginning of a new era full of opportunities and shared success” – emphasized Rezső Rózsai, CEO of KPMG

In recent years, Corvinus has entered strategic partnerships with more than ten major domestic and multinational companies. The aim of the university is to continuously expand its economic and social network and to channel the latest market knowledge into education.
