About the programme

Learn from industry leaders and gain real-world experience in a thriving sports ecosystem.

  • Students with management knowledge can develop advanced sport business expertise in one year with a strong international focus.
  • Budapest, ranked among the world’s top sport cities, offers world-class events and facilities (athletics, Formula 1, swimming, football, multifunctional arenas) that enrich the programme.
  • Internship opportunities with Hungarian, regional and international federations, organisations and clubs, including the World Aquatics Federation now relocating to Budapest.
  • International summer university and an intensive week with leading European sport management students through Corvinus’ partnerships.
  • Equipped with data-driven analysis skills, graduates will focus on digitalisation and internationalisation, preparing them for roles as managers, analysts, consultants, investors, or entrepreneurs in the sports ecosystem.
  • Emphasising sustainability and social impact, graduates are trained to consider the broader effects of sport when making business decisions.

Who is expected to attend the training

The programme is open to students who already have a basic knowledge of economics/management and are very interested in the business of sport. In addition to learning about the complexities of the sports economy, the courses will also offer the opportunity to learn from a range of guest lecturers from the world of practice. We expect our students to be open-minded and critical. We particularly welcome applications from students who are interested in a career in international sport business!

International opportunities

The one-year programme also offers strong international opportunities. Our aim is to connect students with initiatives attended by peers from leading European universities.

With support from the International Olympic Committee (IOC), international case competitions are organised for both Bachleor’s and Master’s students. In 2025, Corvinus entered an undergraduate team who came first in the online semi-finals among four universities, and will present in person in Lausanne, Switzerland, in March 2026, at the IOC headquarters. The master’s-level competition is organised by the University of Mainz, with the final also held at the IOC headquarters in Lausanne.

The European Academy for Sport Management (EASM) runs two student seminars each year alongside its annual conference: one in Madrid in May, and another in September at the conference venue. Each university may send 4–5 students; the September seminar is open to students on the two-year programme.

Short-term (1–2 week) small-group or individual study trips are also possible across Central or Western Europe (e.g., Vienna, Prague, Rome). The Pannonia Scholarship Programme can be used for all international opportunities, and our modern infrastructure makes it easy to run hybrid classes and include renowned international guest speakers online.
