We’re thrilled to announce that this year two students, Dharma Sarabia Ramos and Valeria Ciolac won the György Jenei Best Thesis Award.

Dharma’s thesis is entitled „Artificial Intelligence Policies: A Comparative Study of the EU, USA, China, and Peru.” Her research conducts a comparative analysis of AI policies across these four major regions, assessing the governance models in the EU, USA, China, and Peru. The findings reveal distinct approaches to AI, from the EU’s rights-based regulation to China’s state-controlled governance. Dharma’s work provides invaluable insights into the future of AI policy globally and in Peru.

Congratulations to Dharma and her supervisor, Nándor Petrovics, for this remarkable accomplishment!

Valerias Ciolac’s thesis entitled „An in medias effectiveness evaluation of Moldova’s judiciary vetting reform: quis custodiet ipsos custodes?” evaluated Moldova’s judicial vetting reform initiated in 2021, focusing on its effectiveness in cleansing the judiciary, enhancing institutional integrity, and restoring public trust. Using a mixed-methods approach, Valeria has provided valuable insights into the reform’s outcomes, unintended consequences, and lessons for other transitional democracies.

Big congratulations to Valeria and her supervisor, Dr. György Gajduschek, for this remarkable work!
