More Than Ten Corvinus Alumni Appointed to Government Decision-Making Positions

The longstanding mission of Budapest Corvinus University is to educate responsible, future-oriented leaders with a multidisciplinary mindset. As a result, our graduates are able to apply their knowledge not only in the business sector, but also in public administration and public leadership roles. The university’s significant role in Hungary’s economic and public life is reflected in the fact that, since the democratic transition, more than 50 ministers serving in different governments have graduated from Corvinus and its predecessor institutions.
The same holds true for the new Hungarian government formed at the beginning of May. We were delighted to see that five ministers in the new cabinet earned their degrees at Budapest Corvinus University or one of its predecessor institutions. We warmly congratulate them and wish them every success in their work:
- Judit Lannert, Minister for Children and Education
- Anita Orbán, Minister of Foreign Affairs
- András Kármán, Minister of Finance
- Gábor Pósfai, Minister of the Interior
- Zoltán Tanács, Minister for Science and Technology
Although the full list of state secretaries in the new government has not yet been completed, we are pleased to see that many Corvinus alumni are already among those appointed. We congratulate our former students on their appointments as state secretaries: Ágnes Kelemen, Judit Pettkó-Szandtner, Kinga Dóra Szabó-Tóth, Gyula Barabás, András Bíró-Nagy, Áron Porcher and Mátyás Szabó.
