Department of Investments and Corporate Finance

Our Department is one of the leading scientific workshops in the field of finance in Hungary. For more than a decade now we have been teaching our students the most up-to-date knowledge content of investment analysis, risk management and corporate valuation. Our staff have contributed to the translation of a number of textbooks on finance, which represent the international standard and are taught at prestigious universities abroad. Our topics are adjusted to the examination requirements of leading international organisations (CFA – Chartered Financial Analyst; EFFAS – European Federation of Financial Analysts’ Societies)

Our goal is to train professionals who, equipped with a high level of theoretical and practical knowledge, can succeed in jobs with companies, banks, state organisations, or consulting firms alike, being able to solve problems independently and perform creative and research work. We are proud that a high proportion of the best students in each academic year tend to choose our specializations, and that a significant part of professionals in the banking and financial sector in Hungary have graduated from these specializations.

The Department’s educational activities are focused on four main topics:

  • corporate finance, corporate valuation
  • investment analysis, financial markets
  • risk management
  • financial mathematics

Programmes connected to the Department under the new training structure include the undergraduate study programme in Finance and Accounting; the specialization in Investment Analysis within the master’s study programme of Finance; and the specialisation in Quantitative Finance within the Corvinus – ELTE TTK joint master’s study programme in Actuarial and Financial Mathematics. You can find detailed information on subjects taught by, and study programmes and specializations belonging to, the Department in the menu item For Students.
