Before sitting an examination (written, oral and auditive)examinees have to show their identity cards / passports / driving licensecards. Examinees are not allowed to start an examination without acredible verification of identity. Mobile phones have to be switched offand mustn’t be taken out of the room during examinations. Devices that arenot allowed to be used on examinations include mobile phones, image/audiorecording devices, digital dictionaries, and for certain exam parts, paper dictionaries.Using such devices and communicating with other examinees are forbidden,examinees caught will not be allowed to continue the exam. Please notethat any unlawful activity concerning examinations or examination certificatesis punishable by law. According to the Hungarian penal code (Btk. 274.§ /1/)the act of cheating may raise suspicion of illicit public document forgery,which may have legal consequences.
The exactdate and time of each written examination, which applies to each test centre,is set by the Examination Centre. Consult the exam schedule
for further details. Examinees have to arrive at the test centre 30 minutesbefore the exam starts. Examinees have to take the seats allocated to them bythe Examination Centre/test centre. The two envelopes handed out may only beopened when the invigilator says so. Inthe envelope examinees will find the tests sheets, instructions, and answersheets.
Examiners willonly consider answers written on the answer sheet in blue or black ink. Thereis no extra time provided for copying answers from the test sheets to theanswer sheets. Test answers should be written on the dotted line, or markedwith an „x” at the appropriate place. It is very important that the barcodestickers examinees get from the invigilator should be applied onto the answersheets. Tests without the barcode stickers on won’t be assessed.
For thewriting skills part, if a composition is more than 10% shorter than the wordcount given, the final score will be decreased at the same rate; if the writingis longer, it will only be corrected up to 110% of the set word count.
Should anexaminee have any questions during the test, with a hand raised an invigilatormay be called to help, however, invigilators won’t assist with interpretingtest questions.
When thetime given for the exam part is up the invigilator tells the examinees to stopworking, which they have to abide immediately and put their tests and answersheets back into the envelope. The envelopes are then collected by theinvigilators.
· Mono- and bilingual dictionaries areallowed to be used at general and monolingual economic written examinationsregardless of level, but only for the essay writing and reading comprehensiontest, and at International Relations exams, for writing and mediation.
Listeningcomprehension (speech understanding) test
The date and time of listening comprehension tests are setby the Examination Centre. For details see the exam schedule
Examinees should arrive at the test centre 30 minutes beforethe auditive exam starts. Latecomers won’t be allowed into the room after therecording starts playing. Examinees mustaccept to sit in a sitting plan arranged by the Examination Centre / TestCentre.
Only answers written on the dotted line (or „x” marks putinto appropriate boxes) in blue or black ink will be considered. Please mindthat there will be no extra time for copying the answers from the test sheet tothe answer sheet. Tests without the barcode stickers on – which are handed outby the invigilator – won’t be considered.
The examination time frame includes foreign language oral instructions,a break before the first listening so that examinees may read the test sheet,the listening material itself which is read twice, and time for checking andfinalising answers. Dictionaries are not allowed to be used for this exam part.
Oral (speaking skills) examination
The placeand time of the oral examination – there are multiple occasions with a specifictime window provided to each examinee – can be checked in the exam schedule
on theExamination Centre’s webpage. Examinees should appear in front of therespective examination room 10 minutes in advance and wait for the examiners tocall them in.
Theexamination committee consisting of two examiners will hear one examinee at atime. One of the examiners greets the examinee and for the duration of theexam, examinees answer examiners’ questions and follow their instructions. Inkeeping with relevant regulations, an audio recording is made of each oralexam. Videos may also be recorded for later non-public use at examiners’conferences.
Examinersdon’t tell the result of the exam on the spot, however, after the exams areover for the day the scores will be posted out on the door of the same room.
The oral exam date sometimes coincides with the auditive exam date.
