Admission Requirements for Foreign Citizen Applicants

If your application has been approved, you will be contacted to take the written exam. Your physical presence in Budapest is not necessary to take the exam. You will be given more information about the exam after your application has been approved.

If you pass the exam, you will be asked to meet for an interview either in person (if you are in Hungary) or on Skype.

The entry exam is made up of two parts
  1. An online written exam (test) is organized on basic problems of Corporate Finance
  2. Those who pass the written exam will be invited take part in an oral admission interview. The interview will consist of questions concerning competences in corporate finance and also includes a motivation discussion.

The admission process to the International Economy and Business master programme consists of two parts. First, the candidates’ CV, transcripts, motivational and recommendation letters will be overviewed and evaluated.

Then, the selected candidates will be invited for an interview via Skype, where besides their motivation and language skills, their general knowledge in (international) economics, business and politics will also be evaluated.

The entry exam has two parts.The first is the essay. You have to submit it along with the rest of your application. You have to submit an original essay of 2,000 to 4,000 words by e-mail, on either of the following topics (the choice of the candidate in this case is optional):
  1. Introduce a contemporary human rights issue, providing detailed analysis thereof, and offer policy recommendations as to how to deal with it
  2. Analyse the prospects of Sino-US relations with a view to trade and security issues
  3. Assess the present trends and the future of NATO, the North Atlantic Treaty Organization

You are invited to consider either (but only one) of these subjects from an original angle. The focus of the essay should be to argue in favour of a central thesis, and to submit appropriately referenced evidence in support of this thesis.

Some of you might have to take part in a short Skype interview as well.
