Assistant Professor/ Associate Professor – ÁRH/13/2024

Our Institute of Strategy and Management is looking for an Assistant Professor/ Associate Professor for a 3-year definite period. It is a vibrant, academic community with five departments.

The successful candidate will join the Department of Organisational Behaviour and Human Resource Development (OBHRD). Faculty at OBHRD conducts multidisciplinary research inspired by multiple theoretical approaches ranging from positivist to interpretive and critical paradigms and apply qualitative and quantitative methods. The faculty is dedicated to engaged scholarship and student learning and teaches a wide range of courses within human resource management, organizational behaviour and organisation theory.

The University’s master’s in Management and Leadership program is ranked among the Financial Times’ best master’s in management programs.

The starting date in this position is the autumn semester of 2024.

Job description and key duties:

  • Teaching duties:
    • Teaching English language courses/classes in organisational behaviour, human resource management, and related fields at both undergraduate and graduate levels (knowledge of Hungarian is not required)
    • The teaching load is between 10 to 12 hours per week including supervision of student’s thesis work (BA and MA level)
  • Research duties:
    • Conducting research in the field of organisational behaviour and related topics such as diversity and inclusion, leadership, identity, and human resource development
    • Publishing in high-quality journals and taking part in international conferences
    • Taking part in international research team(s)
  • Service duties
    • Participation in PhD, MSc and BSc administrative duties (final and comprehensive exams, supervisory activities, etc.).

Essential qualifications and experience:

  • PhD (or is close to completing) in Business and Management or related fields from an internationally recognised university
  • At least 3 years of teaching and/or research experience gained in higher education
  • Publication track record (or strong publication potential) in high-quality international peer-reviewed journals
  • The candidate must meet the job requirements set out in the Corvinus Academic Career Model.

Desirable criteria:

  • Ability to leverage innovative pedagogy to deliver high-quality classes in English
  • Engaged scholarship in interpretive and critical approaches
  • Experience in international research projects
  • PhD obtained at a university with a remarkable international ranking (ARWU, QS)

  • Curriculum vitae, including the list of publications and teaching experience
  • Two reference letters written by reputable professors or researchers of the discipline
  • Doctoral dissertation
  • Scanned copies of the documents verifying the university degree, scientific rank (eg. PhD degree) and of the documents verifying other professional qualifications. (In case of scientific ranks obtained abroad, the nostrification will be arranged in the next phase of the selection procedure.)
