The coronavirus situation affects, similarly to many other matters, this semester’s final exams: based on the provisions issued by the Presidential Committee, the final exams will be conducted in person, at the University. However, in the cases of those international students, who left Hungary after it declared a state of emergency, the option of an on-line final exam will remain in place.
The lifting of Hungary’s stay-at-home order affects our University’s operations, too: The Government’s May 16 decree lifts the restrictions on university visits by their students, albeit with the necessary safety measures staying in place. With this in mind, the Presidential Committee has decided to, provided that the Government doesn’t impose stricter regulations, hold this spring’s final exams in person for those Hungarian and non-Hungarian, but at the time of the final exams staying in the country students, who are seeking to finish their current bachelor’s, master’s or postgraduate-level studies. Therefore, for those students whose official place of residence is in Hungary, having the final exams in person is mandatory. For those who have previously registered for an on-line exam, registering one more time is not necessary. Those who have not registered to an on-line exam can register to the in-person one until May 24, by filling out the respective form on the Neptun system.
Our University pays a great amount of attention to the protection from the coronavirus disease, therefore we would like to assure all of you that all final exams will be conducted with the necessary precautionary measures carried out. In case stricter regulations are imposed due to the then-current situation, we will inform you immediately, and in that case, the option of an on-line final exam will become available to everyone.
Regarding those international students in their final years of studies, who have left the country, the option of online final exam remains ensured. They also have to fill out the respective form on the Neptun system by May 27.
