Corvinus University and Central Bank of Hungary concludes cooperation, training programs continue to run

The Corvinus University of Budapest and the Central Bank of Hungary are ending their successful cooperation that has lasted for more than six years. The termination of the cooperation will not affect the smooth running of the courses in which the MNB was involved.
- As of 31 June 2021, the Corvinus University of Budapest and the Central Bank of Hungary will end their cooperation, which has existed from 2015.
- The heads of the two institutions have agreed on the details of the separation: the transition will be smooth and there will be no detriment to the educational portfolio, students or staff.
- The cooperation between the two institutions covered the following courses: the Master’s Degree in Economic Analysis and the Master’s Degree in Regional and Environmental Economics in Hungarian and English, the Doctoral Programme in Geopolitics and Sustainable Development and the Fudan-Corvinus Double Degree MBA.
- In the future, Corvinus University will ensure the smooth functioning of these courses independently.
The cooperation between Corvinus University and MNB, existing from 2015, has resulted in the renewal of the Master’s Degree in Economic Analysis in Hungarian and English, the Master’s Degree in Regional and Environmental Economics in Hungarian and English, and the launch of the Doctoral Programme in Geopolitics and Sustainable Development as a stand-alone programme. Central Bank of Hungary provided technical support and financial assistance to the training costs of the Fudan-Corvinus Double Degree MBA programme. Several scholarship opportunities were also made available to students with the support of the MNB.
Following the conclusion of the cooperation with the MNB, the Master’s Degree in Economic Analysis will continue to be taught in the previously renewed format. The students on the programme may continue to specialise in two areas: market analysis and macroeconomic analysis. There will be changes in the teaching staff, but the curriculum will remain unchanged. The University’s strategic objective is to further develop the Master’s Degree in Economic Analysis year on year, modernising it in line with market needs.
The Master’s Degree in Regional and Environmental Economics will continue to be taught with the same content and structure.
The content of the Doctoral Programme in Geopolitics and Sustainable Development will not be affected by the end of the cooperation with the MNB. The training will continue with an unchanged curriculum under the professional coordination of the Doctoral School of International Relations and Political Science.
The Fudan-Corvinus Double Degree MBA programme will also continue with an unchanged curriculum. In view of the high cost of the course, Corvinus management is working on contracting a new cooperating partner.
Among the scholarships offered by the MNB, the MNB Scholarship for Excellence is a nationally available scholarship programme for which Corvinus students can continue to apply.
