Despite all the precautionary measures of the organizers and the compliance with epidemiological rules, COVID-19 infection has been detected in four participants of the BA freshman camp held in Bükkszék during the last week, posteriorly after the camp. They are all well, asymptomatic or have mild symptoms. The leadership of Corvinus University has therefore decided not to allow the holding of the MA freshman camp planned for this week.
Unfortunately, COVID-19 infection has been confirmed in four cases so far among the participants of the BA freshman camp held in Bükkszék during the last week. Organizers of the BA freshman camp - the BCE Öntevékeny Csoportok Irodája (CUB Office of Self-active Groups) - have taken
all necessary precaution measures to prevent infections (using masks, hand disinfection, extra cleaning, minimization of physical contact). Furthermore camp participants were required to submit a prior written statement stating that they had not been in a severely infected country for the past two weeks, moreover that they had not experienced any symptoms of the epidemic during the recent weeks. Despite compliance with epidemiological rules and all the precautionary measures, four participants of the camp were tested positive for coronavirus, subsequently. They are all well, asymptomatic or have mild symptoms and stay currently in house quarantine.
The Office of Self-active Groups in cooperation with Corvinus University of Budapest have notified the National Public Health Centre and has taken the all necessary measures. Contact tracing has been made, affected students will be get in contact by competent authorities. People affected by the case have already been informed by the Office of Self-active Groups via e-mails.
Due to the recent COVID-19 infections in other and in our University's freshman camps, the leaders of the University and the Student Union decided to not hold the MA freshman camp.
Participation fees will be refunded by the organizers of course. CUB Student Union will work out the ways and methods of the integration of our MA students in September.
