The Government of Hungary decided to change the model of Corvinus University of Budapest in September 2018. As a result of the legislative work related to the model change, as of 1st July 2019 the Corvinus University of Budapest became a foundation-based private university instead of a publicly-funded university. Thus Corvinus University – which is one of the best higher education institutions in the country and the best in its field – has also taken over the responsibility of being the first model-changing institution.
