On this special, interactive ‘journey’, everyone can experience what it’s like to live without sight, and how our other senses are heightened when we access information through touch, hearing, smell and balance alone. In addition to the difficulties of the new situation caused by visual impairment, visitors can also experience that the world can still be beautiful and round.

In the exhibition, blind and visually impaired visitors are guided on a journey that can change the way they used to think and behave. Different life situations are presented, where you can experience how to get around in the hustle and bustle of the city, how to pay for a coffee at the bar, or how to recognise which spice to add to your lunch.

Programme elements:

  • ‘Stumbling’ – try moving along with a white walking stick blindfolded in a mini maze
Logic games – devil lock, blindfold puzzle
  • Talking to visually impaired people – topics: transport, cooking, learning, sports, visually impaired people in the labour market
  • ‘Tapping box’, ‘Tapping bags’
Presentation of tools and objects used by visually impaired people
Braille typewriter – try Braille writing on a Braille typewriter with a visually impaired assistant
