Danube Cup 2021 offers the environment and motivation for future innovative enterprises to be developed by students to turn their business ideas into reality. Competing teams will gain professional experience, invaluable business networking opportunities, and will be enriched by inspiration and mentoring provided by renowned entrepreneurs, investors, and incubation and accelerator programme leaders. All this will take place in the framework of an international competition in which they will have the chance to measure themselves against student teams of similar motivation.

History:The Duna Kupa/Danube Cup competition began in 2015. It originally provided an opportunity for students of Corvinus and BME, to present their business ideas by remaining connected to StartupVIP, a practice-based training programme founded with the use of Emeritus Professor János Vecsenyi’s methodology and offered by both universities. The Duna Kupa competition was created by Professor Vecsenyi who taught at both universities. It was expanded internationally to include the universities of Vienna and Belgrade in May 2019 by BME Professor Pál Danyi, and the leader of open innovation laboratory ‘DEMOLA Budapest’, Attila Miklya.
