Department of Strategic Management

The Institute of Management and its predecessor, the Management and Organisation Department has been teaching in the field of strategic management since 1992. The textbook titled Strategy and organisation published in 1997 has seen multiple editions, and has become a widely accepted material in domestic higher education. The “Strategic and International Management Research Centre” was founded in January 2005, providing a framework for research related to strategy. The Management and Strategy Department that has been an independent unit in our Institute since 2009, was headed until 2013 by Károly Balaton, a doctor of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences, who still has a close relation with the staff of the department. After the professor, the department was headed by Dr. habil. Lilla Hortoványi until 2018. As of October 2018, the dean of the Business and Management faculty appointed Balázs Felsmann to carry out the professional management tasks of the Management and Strategy Department.
