Department of Political Sciences
Politics is getting highly professional in the world and in Hungary also: parties, governments, public administration institutions, various research institutes, think tanks, and international organizations need a growing number of experts in the field who can find the way in the world of politics. Our goal at the Department of Political Science of Corvinus is to train professionals like this.
Both our senior and junior lecturers embrace a broad scope of politics as science in their research and teaching activities: the academic community is formed by scholars dealing with political philosophy, political theory, and by colleagues able to answer the political challenges of practical character of the 21st century. Scholars in Philosophy linked to the major of PPE are also part of the Department.
Academic and social life is also important at our Department. The Political Economy Club (PG Klub) has organized nights on a monthly basis since 2013 where politicians and political or economic professional-guests are welcome with whom we discuss the decisive happenings of domestic- and international public life. Another highlight of community-building is the Department Christmas when our students and the staff can sit and visit in an informal way.
