New Silk Road

Uncovering the political systems and geo-strategic factors of the New Silk Road Economic Area affecting Hungary

China’s New Silk Road initiative represents a new, more geographically structured approach in Chinese foreign investment policy. The aim of the project is to analyse the structure and characteristics of the New Silk Road Economic Area as a new geographical and geopolitical unit. The project is composed of two sub-projects, focusing on the analysis of the Asian political systems behind the New Silk Road (co-ordinated by the Institute for International Relations), and the geographic and geopolitical and economic implications for Hungary (co-ordinated by the Institute of Geography, Geoeconomics and Sustainable Development).
