Corvinus University of Budapest cordially invites you to the public lecture entitled „Legitimacy of State Power in Situations of Transition” held by Dr. Danilo Türk, former President of the Republic of Slovenia, distinguished lawyer and diplomat.

Dr. Danilo Türk was President of the Republic of Slovenia from 2007 to 2012. Between 1992 and 2000, he was the first Slovenian Permanent Representative to the United Nations and served as non-permanent member of the Security Council as well as member of the UN Human Rights Committee. Dr. Türk later served as UN Assistant Secretary-General for Political Affairs (2000 to 2005), dealing with issues of conflict prevention and a number of specific situations among others in Palestine, Kosovo, Colombia, Haiti and Myanmar. In 2014, he was appointed Chair of the Board of Directors of the Global Fairness Initiative.
Dr Türk is a professor of international law and a former director of the Institute for International Law of the University of Ljubljana. He is the author of over 100 articles published in law journals as well as the author of several UN studies and books.
