Degree programmes in Hungarian

Due to the reforms in European Higher Education, Hungary has made changes in the institutional system of higher education. One of the main elements of the process is the implementation of the three cycle system. The University offers 26 Bachelor and 32 Master programmes.

The function of Bachelor programmes implemented in the European Higher Education Area is very complex.
They aim

• to help students prepare for lifelong learning,
• to provide them a basic knowledge to be able to proceed to the next level of degree,
• to provide them the knowledge which is necessary in Europe and finally,
• to give them vocational education that helps them integrate into the labour market.

Students with a bachelor degree can continue their studies at a two-year Master programme. Someone with a bachelor degree in a different science or field of studies can apply too. The courses at master level have a double function. If a student has aspirations towards a researcher career, he will be prepared for a doctoral (PhD) course, while at the same time he will receive high level knowledge that can be utilise directly in the labour market.

Corvinus University of Budapest aims to preserve its high vocational prestige in Hungary and internationally in the new system as well, and to provide attractive academic programmes for students wishing to study in one of the institutions of higher education.
